Perfect Studio Sound with Quilted Studio Blanket

Insul-Quilts is delighted to introduce our new website by summarizing amazing results on our Studio Quilted Blanket acoustics project at Atresmedia in Madrid, Spain. Atresmedia occupies top positions in the TV and Audio Visual markets in Spain.

The initial challenge for the Atresmedia Technical Managers was to build two new studio sets, 900 m2 and 500 m2, from ground up in just 60 days!

The Director of Production and Technical Division (CTO), Jose Maria Martinez, entered into this project with Insul-Quilts Inc., thanks to his extensive experience and knowledge in regards to Hollywood Studios. Insul-Quilts acoustically “dresses” the studio walls and ceilings in the most relevant Hollywood studios and other TV studios around the world.

The Spanish and European authorities demand maximum safety for products installed in public or private venues. Insul-Quilts shipped more than 7,500 m2 of Quilted Studio Blanket to Spain after completing and passing the Fire response, and Thermal conductivity tests according to the Standard European regulations: UNE-EN ISO 11925-2: 2011 and UNE-EN 13823: 2012 + A1: 2016. Insul-Quilts’ Quilted Studio Blanket obtained an excellent grade Euroclasses B-s1, d0 after being tested at APPLUS + in Barcelona.

The Quilted Studio Blanket is USA certified as a Class A Fire/Smoke Rating via ASTM E84-18.

Insul-Quilts custom manufactured 5,000 m2 in less than two weeks and shipped more than 500 rolls of Quilted Studio Blanket on a five week journey (Long Beach, US – Valencia, ES – Madrid, ES).

The Quilted Studio Blanket was installed in the two new Atresmedia studios, including Estudio 11 (TheVoice) and Estudio 12 (El Objetivo de Ana Pastor), both of which are top-rated programs in Spain. Atresmedia entrusted the quilts installation works to Mas Acoustics, a Barcelona based company, who directed and coordinated the work with Atresmedia Managers. Mas Acoustics managers witnessed and were trained on how to install Insul-Quilts based on a quilt installation project on Stage 27 at Universal Studios in Hollywood and then training at our own headquarters and manufacturing plant in the Los Angeles area.

After successfully installing the Quilted Studio Blanket in Estudio 11 and 12, Mas Acoustics tackled installing the quilted acoustic treatment in Studio 7, with 2,000 m2 of surface, 14 meters high, and the new home of the music and talent show “The Voice” with more than 45,000W of sound!.

The results obtained after the placement of the Quilted Studio Blanket in these three studio sets is overwhelming. Ideal reverberation times, perfect levels of intelligibility and finished with a professional aesthetic appeal making this our first Insul-Quilt installation in Spain one of our best showcases in Europe and the Middle East.
